This week we were delighted to be invited to meet Theresa Tsui and Tracey Francis, two of the wonderful people behind Pecan, the local charity which does so much to support the local community in times of crisis. Form SE15 has a longstanding relationship with Pecan through fundraising. Did you know that over £3,000 has been raised with our Join Nurture candle collaboration and the fantastic raffle held online last year which so many local businesses and customers supported? Pecan are celebrating 35 years in June this year. Back in 1989, six church gathered to address the issues in the community and the primary need for Peckham when Pecan was established, was to address the high levels of unemployment. Therefore, the first projects were based around employment and training. Today they now host several projects: Southwark Foodbank, Peckham Pantry, Women’s Service, Employment Support and our community hub Together.  As Pecan turns 35 years this year, Pecan want to hear your stories and connections with Pecan so they can map their journey and impact in Southwark.
